    Our client, Canterbury company, Invert Robotics, with the global headquarters in Christchurch, provides non-destructive inspection services using in-

    house, state of the art mobile climbing robots. Invert’s climbing robots enable precise and accurate remote inspection of nonferromagnetic surfaces such as stainless steel, carbon fibre, aluminium and glass.

    Their robots make inspection work faster, safer and more accurate than traditional inspection methods. Invert Robotics highly skilled team of engineers have developed a world leading modular inspection platform suitable for use across a range of industries and applications.

    It is a well-established company, having been established in 2011 following the completion of research in the University of Canterbury.

    Following successful capital raising and with growing turnover they are active in Australia, New Zealand, US and Europe and are rapidly expanding.

    Not surprisingly, as Invert Robotics is on a significant growth trajectory Invert Robtoics needs the expertise of a talented Commercial Manager to support the MD and the Board to make and execute strategic and major operational decisions that will facilitate this growth while optimising shareholder value and return.     About the opportunity

    Reporting to the Managing Director and as a member of the Executive Team, the overall purpose of your role is to provide necessary Commercial leadership that will enhance company profitability and scale.

    In doing this, you will support the MD and the Board with strategic and significant operational decision making through the proactive analysis and research of business opportunities, markets and contracts.

    Core accountabilities of the role of Commercial Manager include :

  • Executive leadership and strategic contribution;
  • Commercial analysis and modelling to determine performance measures of the business by industry vertical, product, business model etc;
  • Market and strategic business development research and analysis;
  • Business case preparation;
  • Feasibility assessment of opportunities;
  • Contract review for alignment with company objectives;
  • Advice on the structure of the business including investment and partnership options.
  • You will hold and effectively manage cross-functional relationships throughout the business and as a true executive leader, you will contribute thinking, commercial support and leadership to any area of the business requiring this support.

    About you

    To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant, commercial tertiary qualification and you may be a Chartered Accountant.

    You have developed your commercial career and acumen through the provision of executive level, commercial and financial advice within fast growing and dynamic organisations.

    Exceptional technical capability in assessing feasibility, profitability and commercial performance, a core talent will be your ability to provide valuable advice and information which supports strategic decision making and drives organisational success.

    A true executive leader, you will enjoy supporting your colleagues, leading by inspiration across an organisation and actively contributing to strategic thinking.
