The Role

As an Assistant Research Fellow you join the School of Business and will work on externally funded research through the Science for Technological Innovation National Science Challenge.

We are looking for a contemporary and flexible Assistant Research Fellow who would like to work on research on how New Zealand and Māori enterprises connect to cutting-

edge science and technology for economic and social good.

This role reports to the Associate Dean Māori at the Otago School of Business and will assist a team of business and Māori innovation researchers with tasks such as :

  • Literature reviews.
  • Interview preparation and organisation.
  • Coding.
  • Manuscript preparation.
  • Travel organisation.
  • Coordination / liaison.
  • You will also support the Portfolio Team Leader with other research tasks and will attend team meetings.

    Your Skills and Experience

  • A completed research degree, preferably at Masters level or above.
  • Competency in qualitative research including understanding of kaupapa Māori research. Familiarity with N-Vivo would be an advantage but is not necessary.
  • Ability to quickly respond to requests for information.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to contribute to clearly written documents, journal articles or reviews.
  • Good time management and organisational skills, with an ability to work with competing demands.
  • Exemplary customer service is of utmost importance to the success of the Division.

    This is a part time (minimum 0.7 FTE), fixed term position until 31 July 2019.
