The Whakatane District Council is seeking a highly-motivated heritage specialist to deliver of outstanding collections and research activities at our redeveloped Museum and Research Centre -
Te Whare Taonga o Taketake.
If you have the knowledge, experience and vision to lead the development and preservation of our collections and archives and provide exciting opportunities for our community to explore and appreciate our rich culture and heritage, then this is a role you must apply for.
Key attributes and prerequisites include :
Proven experience in a senior museum curatorial role services is essential; and a Masters degree in museum and heritage studies, or equivalent, is highly desirable.
Sound budget management; experience in local government or the state sector; and a commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards are also desirable.
