  • Our EM Response Team Operations Advisers are part of a 24 / 7 team based at the Department of Corrections National Office.

    They are responsible for managing offenders subject to electronic monitoring (EM) in our communities.

    Operations Advisers work with Probation Officers and Police to ensure that offenders / defendants abide by the conditions of their sentences or orders and that breaches of these conditions are responded to in a timely manner.

    A shift in this team will involve taking calls from our monitoring centre, offenders, Probation Officers and Police, interpreting the related GPS data, using this information to determine appropriate action in relation to offender behaviour and movements, and recording these actions in our offender management system.

    Training will be provided in relation to our GPS data and recording system, however you must also be competent with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.

    This is a demanding role - the phones can be exceptionally busy and no two days will be the same. You will have the chance to join a fast paced role that can make a difference in the community.

    A pre-requisite for the position is the ability to make sound decisions whilst adhering to process and established frameworks.

    You will need to fit within a close knit team and present with integrity and professionalism.

  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • The role is heavily computer and phone based, and therefore customer service and / or call centre experience would be beneficial.
  • Frontline experience (especially as a Probation Officer or Case Manager) and / or a degree in a relevant field would also be advantageous, but are not crucial.
  • Life experience, the ability to work the required shift patterns and a can do attitude are also key components.

    You can expect to be challenged, but also to leave each shift with a sense of satisfaction in that you have made a real contribution towards managing our offenders / defendants and keeping the community safe. .

    ROSTERS : Operations Advisers in the EM Response Team work a mixture of morning (6am-2pm), afternoon (2pm-10pm) and night (10pm-

    6am) shifts which will change on a rotational basis Monday-Sunday.

    START DATES : A number of positions are available immediately in this team. However, if successful throughout the assessment process, you may also be placed on a wait list for a position at a later date.
