Applications are being invited for full time positions from Intensivistswho are passionate about providing the highest level of care to a diversepatient population!

Our Cardiothoracic and Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at AucklandCity Hospital is a stand-alone Intensive Care department with 20 ICU and 8 HDUbeds.

We provide care to patients following all cardiothoracic and vascularsurgery as well as heart and lung transplantation and mechanical cardiac andrespiratory support.

As the ideal person for this role, you will have experience incardiothoracic intensive care and will have or be eligible for vocationalregistration with the NZ Medical Council in Intensive Care Medicine and be amember of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealandor equivalent.

Experience in perioperative transoesophageal echocardiographywould be an advantage.

You will work closely with a small team of Intensive care specialistsand nurses so collegiality and good communication skills will be valued.

Theposition involves provision of consultant level cover for the ICU and HDUincluding after hours on call availability and it may be possible to combinethis position with roles in cardiac anaesthesia or other areas within thehospital or University of Auckland Medical School.
