Based in Hawkes Bay, our client is an ethical real estate development company that is moving toward sustainable building practices with a focus on community, people and the environment.

The role

With the company’s inaugural project due to commence in February 2019 and several more in the pipeline within Hawkes Bay and other regions, a Development / Project Manager is needed to work alongside the Project Director to ensure end-

to-end delivery and completion of major and highly visible residential developments.

Responsibilities involve

  • Preparing land acquisition proposals for management consideration and working with the Project Director to produce optimal master plan designs
  • Compiling Development Management Plans, running design meetings, engaging with project stakeholders as required and delivering timely Resource Consents
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance and promotion
  • Leading the resource consent project team, briefing internal and external consultants required for resource consent, manage and facilitate the designers, establish meetings and manage the resource consent applications
  • Developing Risk, Issue & Mitigation schedules for each project
  • Creating and working within profitability and cash-flow models
  • Participating in tender processes for contractors and suppliers
  • Undertaking interim property management requirements and tenancy management in the early phases of business growth
  • What we’re looking for

    Residential land development project experience is essential for this position with an emphasis on place-making , a keen interest and knowledge of sustainable building options and the desire to operate ethically and cohesively with the company’s vision of providing supported pathways to home ownership.

    The successful candidate will :

  • Be an excellent communicator with the ability to get on with people from all walks of life
  • Remain calm under pressure and be able to juggle various projects at differing life-cycles
  • Be culturally respectful and have a willingness to participate in cultural activities
  • Be commercially astute
  • Have an interest in sustainable aspects of property development
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and other organisations involved in the projects
  • Ideally hold a construction related tertiary qualification in either Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or Property
