We are seeking an experienced instrument technician for our Christchurch based climate and hydrometric network team. The role will suit someone who is self-
motivated, has interest in electronics and instrumentation, who is looking for variety and challenges, and is available to travel throughout the Pacific.
You will work closely with the Group Manager Instrument Systems, suppliers, and other NIWA technical and science staff, with a focus on delivery and support of climate and hydrometric related monitoring systems.
The work will involve all aspects of monitoring system construction, installation, maintenance, and customer training, and will include field work in New Zealand and throughout the Pacific Islands.
The successful applicant will be experienced with climate and hydrometric instrumentation and processes and will need to quickly become proficient with the requirements of the role.
You will be a good team player who is solution focused, with a keen interest in continuous improvement. You will cope well under pressure and thrive on variety and multiple work demands.
