Dunedin City Council is currently seeking applications from undergraduate students who are looking for employment relevant to their area of study during the summer months (November to February).

We are looking for intern support within Parks and Recreation.

Role tasks :

  • Carrying out an inventory of DCC's walking tracks, starting with Otago Peninsula tracks;
  • Identifying issues with overall visibility, access, parking and signage at and to each track;
  • Planning and designing new marker signs and interpretation for each (priority) walking track (start and finish), and how each track fits into the bigger track network;
  • Updating the track info on the DCC website;
  • Updating walking track brochures.
  • Key requirements :

  • This may be a suitable job and challenge for some-one with an outdoors interest (e.g. a keen walker, cyclist) with design' back-
  • ground and ( / or) communications & educational interest.

  • Current drivers licence is required
  • We need computer literate team players, with a 'can-do' positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn. Successful candidates will currently be enrolled in tertiary studies and will have the opportunity to work within a relevant department within the council.

    Salary : $41,358 per annum (pro-rated)
