About the role

Due to an internal promotion our Rotorua team is looking for a Network Designer to join them. This is a fast paced environment where every day you get the opportunity to use your innovative design solutions to provide the most efficient, safe and cost effective solutions.

  • Ideally 5 years’ experience working on the New Zealand telecommunication networks or an understanding of a telecommunications network
  • A working knowledge of the principals of network design (fibre and copper)
  • Excellent technical ability and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills in English - verbal and written
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, preferably including Visio
  • Not colour blind
  • Qualifications

  • Preferably with a minimum of Level 4 NZQA Telecommunications related qualification or equivalent
  • Current New Zealand full class one driver’s licence.
  • Responsibilities

    The preparation of operational work instructions (job packs) for Broadspectrum employees and Sub-Contractors, including all civil instruction, material requirements, technical information plans, sketches and consignments.

    You may also undertake field scoping to gather sufficient data relating to the project that will allow a design to be created and quoted on site or supplied to an office based designer to complete.

    Work may include inside and outside plant network designs to extend or alter the existing copper and fibre networks from information provided.
