We have a permanent full time position available within our Obstetrics and Gynaecology operating theatres at Auckland City Hospital for a Registered Anaesthetic Technician (ODP / ODA equivalent with current MSC Registration).

The successful applicant will be a qualified Anaesthetic Technician / ODP and will have : -

  • Motivation to provide high quality patient care
  • Excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Currently hold or be eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (http : / / / )
  • Diploma of Applied Sciences (specialising in Anaesthetic Technology) if you are a New Zealand Trained Technician
  • For overseas candidates - hold a New Zealand recognised qualification (RODP) (For eg : - Diploma of Higher Education in Operating Department Practice, UK with at least 2 years experience).
  • In this position, you will work as a skilled member of the team responsible for providing anaesthetic care to patients during the peri-

    operative phase. You will also be required to provide supervision, advice, education and training to junior members of staff and act as a mentor / supervisor.

    Shifts are rostered Monday to Sunday 24 / 7 and on call. We can offer : -

    Salary and benefits will be as per the National Collective Agreement. Additional penal rates will be applicable as per rostered shifts.
