    A little about the role

    In this hands on role you will lead and develop our back office Collections team who work with our suppliers to ensure they are meeting their targets.

    You can expect loads of variety in your role, you will be working with multiple parts of our fast paced organisation and with a wide range of suppliers.

    Your responsibilities will include managing the Hardship portfolio (events related), relationships with Debt Collection agencies and Debt Sale purchasers, controlling a Commercial arrears portfolio and supporting your hardworking front line team.

    A little about you

    Your ability to balance managing a high performing team (7-10 direct reports) with hands on involvement will be key to your success.

    As a leader you will make a critical contribution to our function in maintaining the momentum of your team, providing coaching and development, and guiding them through change as our business constantly evolves.

    We will also be looking for you to show that you approach problem solving positively and can bring a sense of fun to the team.

    To be successful we'd anticipate your background will reflect previous experience leading teams within a collections environment, experience managing external agencies (such as debt collections agency and commercial retailers), and a level of understanding around financial adviser regulation in NZ and other relevant legislation.

    Without question you will be a skilled communicator and proven leader with a passion for driving high performance and team engagement.

    Experience in managing Insurance claims and Debt Sales would also be desirable.
