Auckland Regional Centre for Plastic Reconstructive & Hand surgery Full time permanent position available in Modules 5 at Manukau SuperClinic.

Reporting to the Service Manager & HOD Plastic Surgery the role of the Clinical Nurse Manager is to provide professional management and clinical and nursing leadership in the ambulatory care environment in Modules 5.

The role will ensure effective day to day co-ordination and management of the modules working collaboratively with the consultants, management, clinical leaders and the Clinical Nurse Director (CND).

The Clinical Nurse Manager is also responsible for promoting excellence in clinical practice and ensuring the provision of high quality nursing care for patients in line with the vision and values of Counties Manukau Health (CMH).

Our service provides over 5000 Elective procedures per year, complex breast reconstruction, Head / Neck and ENT reconstruction, Adult and Paediatric Cranial / facial / cleft surgery to name a few.

From an outpatient perspective we see around 4500 New patient appointments and around 20,000 follow ups per annum. The Auckland Regional Centre for Plastic Reconstructive & Hand Surgery at Middlemore Hospital, one of the largest and most dynamic in the Southern Hemisphere with 20 plastic surgeons and 5 Orthopaedic Hand surgeons.

The Department is accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as a training site in Plastic Reconstructive & Hand Surgery.

  • A minimum of five years recent and relevant clinical experience
  • Functioning at Proficient level on the PDRP framework
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Knowledge of current issues within nursing and in their specialty area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medico / legal and ethical responsibilities.
  • Evidence of Quality improvement initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
