Job Description :
Commis Chefs prepare menu items to hotel standards in a timely manner to the restaurant, Sir Edmund Hillary Cafe, Chamois Bar patrons, and for the staff dining room under the direction of their immediate supervisor.
Key Activities :
Prepare tasty, nutritious and presentable food for customers under the guidance of the Chef de Partie,
Proven experience within fine cuisine menus of a 100 seater restaurant a bonus.
An eye for detail and presentation on the plate
Abilities in entremetier and / or garde manger sections
Use and follow forecasting and production records to prevent waste,
Work as a member of the Kitchen team to maintain a pleasant and safe working environment and ensure efficiency in the delivery and preparation of food,
Demonstrate an understanding of both Health & Safety (including accident reporting procedures) and emergency procedures (including how to deal with kitchen fires),
Any additional duties or responsibilities as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
Qualifications and Experience :
Cookery Qualification or the equivalent experience
Experience in a Commercial kitchen essential.
