About the Role :

We have an excellent opportunity available within our Merchandise team for a Buyers Assistant. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual with a hands-

on, proactive approach who has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

The role is diverse and demands a person who enjoys a wide variety of responsibility. The Buyers Assistant role offers variety and challenge with scope to develop your business skills and product knowledge to broaden your career path.

Some key responsibilitiesfor the role will include

  • Liaise with Suppliers to deliver departmental outcomes;
  • Co-ordination and administration of promotional submissions;
  • Management of catalogue programs;
  • Preparing analysis work for category reviews;
  • Setting up new products and product maintenance
  • Updating databases and spreadsheets
  • Distributing communications to stores
  • As required, conduct competition check analysis on applicable products / categories and maintenance of price sensitive lines;
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business;
  • Tobe successful in this role you must :

  • The ability to work to deadlines and a proactive approach to addressing potential issues;
  • A proven ability to multi-task and prioritise matters;
  • Excellent time and resource management skills;
  • Sound analytical ability;
  • Strong PC skills intermediate MS Office skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • A confident, polished and enthusiastic approach to work;
  • An ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ideally the right candidate will have had experience in either a buying team, retail or administration and have completed studies.

    This is a fast paced working environment within a small dynamic team and as such the successful candidate will be the one who likes to be busy and excels when under pressure.
