What’s in it for you?
Reporting to a senior project manager, your main focus as project engineer will be contract administration and you will also be involved in the delivery and management of projects on site.
The variety of activities and exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle will make this an interesting and stimulating role.
In this role you will be working across multiple civil construction and transport infrastructure projects in the $0.5m-$3m range.
Clients include Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and the NZTA and the projects may include cycle path construction, road reconstruciton and construciton of retaining structures.
You will be a civil engineer with project delivery experience, preferably from civil construction projects, but building construction experience is also potentially interesting.
You will possess effective relationship management and communications skills to ensure quality conversations when liaising with key stakeholders including project managers, field supervisors / foremen and designers.
You will have had exposure to every stage of the project cycle from tender through to completion. You will potentially have worked with a small to medium sized contractor where your role may have been less narrow and specialised compared to larger companies.
The Job :
You will be involved in pricing and the preparation of bids and tenders for projects in the pre-contract stage. You will work as a project engineer or site manager on the delivery of projects once they have been converted.
This is a broad role which will expose you to the full lifecycle of projects.
To be considered for this role you will have 2-3 years of experience in the delivery of transportation or civil construction projects.
Ideally you will have a civil engineering degree and will have worked in a similar, broadly-scoped role previously. You will need excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and Excel in particular and strong mathematical capabilities will also be advantageous.
Experience in the use of MS Project will also be advantageous. High levels of motivation, flexibility and a desire to learn and perform are essential.
