    A new and exciting opportunity has come about for a motivated Liaison Officer in the Refugee unit with the Settlement, Protection and Attraction group of Immigration New Zealand.

    As Liaison Officer you will contribute to the operations of the Refugee Unit by providing pastoral care and support to refugees staying at Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre.

    To be successful in this role, you will have :

  • Customer service skills and relationship building with external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience of working with refugees
  • Language skills preferably knowledge of second language apart from English
  • Excellent communication skills including sound written skills
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new information and areas of work
  • Ability to multitask and manage a range of support functions
  • Working without supervision operating the Centre and liaising with agencies on site
  • Good appreciation of quality service delivery and excellent organising ability
  • Ability to deliver in strict timeframes
  • Ability to do shift work
