Due to increased demand from our clients, we are recruiting experienced Community Support Workers to cover shift work in the mental health and disability support sector in Rotorua.
About the Role
Experience in the mental health and disability sector is essential for this role due to clients’ complex needs ranging from those recovering from traumatic brain injuries, through to clients living with chronic pain.
This is a critical role in fostering independence and recovery. You must be reliable, flexible and committed.
Aiding clients in their own homes and in the community to allow them to function more safely and independently
Assisting clients in their social, emotional and physical daily life skills development
Recognizing potentially dangerous situations and being able to deal with these calmly and efficiently
Skills and Experience
Minimum of six months experience in an acute mental health setting, or have a National Certificate in Mental Health.
Experience and knowledge of brain injuries and all aspects of psychological rehabilitation would be advantageous
You must be proficient with managing challenging behaviours
A full drivers license and the ability to drive a manual van is essential
