Job Description

The Department of Conservation is entering an exciting phase where the need to bring to life the compelling story of our nature is more important than ever.

You are confident working with people across the organisation, in a range of work areas and backgrounds. Good people skills are essential including the ability to build relationships, deal with challenging situations and give feedback / advice.

You'll be able to influence a range of stakeholders to build awareness of the Department's work and build commitment to conservation.

The successful candidate will have marketing and communications skills, be highly organised and passionate about the work of the Department.

We need someone who is energetic, agile and full of good marketing ideas. We need someone with experience writing and review marketing plans and supporting execution across all campaign elements.

Person specification :

  • A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, similar
  • Experience in developing and implementing marketing and communication plans
  • Experience and understanding of social media and digital marketing
  • Understanding of brand and the role it plays in successful marketing
  • Excellent organisational skills and high degrees of productivity
  • Experience working with others to achieve beneficial outcomes for conservation
  • Experience in working on projects with team members from different functions
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
