Auckland based Fixed Term (Maternity Leave)

Due to an internal secondment, we are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our People & Performance senior leadership team on a fixed term basis.

Our HR Business Partners are all key members of their Business unit Senior Leadership teams where they partner, represent and support their assigned Executives on all people and performance initiatives and activities.

They also oversee operational HR and ER activities and provide leadership and guidance to supporting HR Advisors.

  • Key responsibilities of this role include;
  • Leading culture and engagement activities for business unit.
  • Providing effective Leadership coaching, advice and assistance to business leaders and HR Advisors to ensure the People and Performance Strategy is successfully delivered.
  • Providing high quality, competent and effective; delivery of projects and initiatives, effective decision making, and continual improvement of HR operating processes.
  • Maintaining knowledge of key strategies and issues in the business unit and Mercury environment to ensure People and Performance team initiatives are consistent with business needs.
  • Facilitating in-house HR education sessions
  • Providing input and advice related to cyclical processes (for example annual salary and performance reviews).
  • Proactively track and analyse key HR information to identify trends and issues affecting the business unit, developing strategies with business managers as appropriate to deal with priority issues.
  • In order to be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have / be able to demonstrate :

  • Degree (or degree equivalent) in HR or business management
  • Previous HR experience as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner at a senior level.
  • Current knowledge of employment related legislation and extensive practical experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and change management.
  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen
  • The ability to interpret and analyse numerical data at an advanced level.
  • Experience with Hays or DSD Job Evaluation and SHL Testing would be advantageous.
