This is a unique opportunity for a suitably qualified General Surgeon to join our Surgical team. We are looking for a surgeon who demonstrates a commitment to high quality care, teaching and leadership in the field.
The successful candidate will manage a wide range of General Surgical conditions. Experience in Colorectalpractice would be an advantage.
The General and Vascular surgery team is part of a close knit and supportive medical community within the Hawkes Bay DHB.

Hawke's Bay DHB main hospital is situated in Hastings, New Zealand. It is a large secondary level, 400 bed accredited public hospital providing acute and elective care for a region of over 162,000 people.
The hospital is a modern facility with a full range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services. It boasts a level 2 Intensive Care Unit and an Anaesthetic department capable of handling all major cases.
Junior staff support includes both trainee and non trainee General Surgical registrars, and there are clinical nurse specialists for all the major subspecialties including trauma.

Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the New Zealand Medical
Council as a Specialist General Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, or equivalent.
This is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position.
