About the team

Our Information Services and Technology (IST) Division, including the Shared Services Team, is responsible for enabling enterprise-

wide Information Management services. Working across the business and leading a small dedicated team, the Enterprise Information Manager provides operational and thought leadership to ensure Transpower protects and retains our information as an asset whilst deriving full benefit from investment in information architecture and development.

About the role

We are on a journey to harness the power of data and information as a means of supporting decisions. Influencing across and at all levels of our business you will lead the development and delivery of information management strategy, provide expert advice in information management, data governance, content management, controlled documents system and offsite storage.

You will work with our building information modelling (BIM) project team and on exciting content information modelling initiatives to enable business efficiencies.

You will guide the business through high quality data programmes from the information management strategy, framework and practices, and act as "champion and coach" for its effective use and practices.

In addition, you will :

  • Be a hands-on leader who can take us to the next level in our use of information and digital technologies
  • Understand and plan the steps needed to deliver on the information management strategy
  • Devise and implement document and record systems, including classification, retrieval and retention processes
  • Lead and manage the information management team of three direct reports. Influence indirect information management champions in the business
  • Work closely with our Enterprise Information Architect to enable our IT infrastructure
  • Work collaboratively and closely with stakeholders across the Transpower business towards achieving best practice information management.
  • Encourage the extraction and capture of tacit information!

  • Help us to transition to full cloud-based services via Office 365.
  • To be considered, your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate :

  • Innate ability to influence, engage and win over hearts and minds
  • Highly effective communication skills - both verbal and written
  • At least 10 years' experience in information management for medium to large organisations with at least 2 years' experience of people leadership
  • Proven ability to translate user requirements into solutions and great business results
  • An understanding of the Public Records Act 2005
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Not essential but highly regarded is :

  • Experience in designing and delivering a data management programme
  • Experience in utility industry asset information requirements
