Smokefree Practitioner Full time, Fixed Term North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals

Waitemata DHB provides comprehensive quit smoking support to more than 3,000 identified smokers each year and works closely with our community partners to ensure everyone has the best possible opportunity to become smokefree.

Smokefree services are looking to recruit a Smokefree Practitioner to join our dedicated team to to work with the smokers within our priority populations that is Maori, Pacifica, pregnant women and parents of young children.

Working across North Shore and Waitakere Hospital sites, you will provide motivational bedside and telephone interventions and support to quit smoking, either thorough onward referral to a community provider or through our Outpatient Clinic support.

A flexible approach to working and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and experience in behavioural change models and health and wellbeing initiatives.

Ideally you will have a have a recognised tertiary health qualification or have worked in a direct contact mental health or addictions setting.
